A Pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.
On New Year's Eve, I did stay up until midnight, but not for the reasons above.
I stayed up because I wanted to thank the old year for all the blessings it brought me, I also felt grateful for overcoming challenges I faced last year.
At the end, everything worked out just fine and I'm in a good place now.
And then I welcomed the new year and prayed for all those who passed away and those who are still living.
I lit two candles and then had a glass of chardonnay and avocado sushi roll.
I kissed my "sleeping beauty baby" Elmo sama and wished him a very happy new year full of chicken treats.
So this was our first new year in Canada.
