When the United States bombed Serbia: a story of manipulation - The New Past-Present
25 years ago, after an exemplary disinformation campaign, NATO, led by
the United States, launched its bombers on Serbia. We then witnessed a
riot of propaganda that transformed the complex situation in the Balkans
into a Manichean fable, distributing, as today, in a simplistic manner
the roles of the good and the bad. Twenty-five years later, it is
important to analyze these events on a factual basis but also to
understand the major role of the techniques of disinformation and
manipulation of public opinion that are part of any war arsenal.
