先週末は、
京都で行われたこども科学博の宇宙トークショーで
司会を務めさせていただきました。
テーマは「太陽の不思議」。
たくさん教えていただきました！
太陽の爆発現象であるフレアがオーロラの原因になっていること、
フレアは黒点が原因で起こること、
その10倍〜数万倍以上の大きさの大爆発、スーパーフレアが太陽系で起こる可能性もあることなど、
NHK「コズミックフロント☆NEXT」の美しいVTRとともにお届けしました。
子どもたちは、本当に元気いっぱい！
クイズや質問コーナーで、
天に届くのではと思うくらい限界まで手を上げる様子は愛らしかったです。
土日の2日間、想定されてた2倍近い来場者だったとのこと。
見たこと、聞いたことを今理解できなくても、言語化できなくても、
いつかふと思い出したときに、
あああのとき見たのはこういうことだったんだな、
と思ってくれるようなイベントだったのではと思います。

Last weekend, I worked as a moderator of a space talk show at “Science Expo for Kids” in Kyoto.
The theme was “the wonder of the Sun”.
Professor Kazunari Shibata, a professor at Kyoto University, taught us a lot.
We delivered the knowledge such as the flare which is the explosion of the Sun is the cause of the aurora,
the flare is caused by sunspots,
and a super flare wihich is 10〜several ten thousand times bigger exploration may occur in the Solar System, etc.
We also showed the beautiful video of NHK “Cosmic Front ☆ NEXT”.
The children were really energetic!
In the quiz and QA segment, they were so lovely to raise their hands to the limit as I thought they would reach up to heaven.
It was said that the visitors were nearly twice as many as expected on Saturday and Sunday.
Even if children can't understand what they saw and heard right now, I think it’s OK.
When they will remember this event someday, I hope they realize what makes them exciting.
She is Ms.Nagata, a charismatic planetarium navigator.
She is also a science consultant for kids in summer vacation.
I would like to be like her.
