【Regarding Comission Work Requests】

I have been receiving many inquiries about commission works. The following is quite long information but Please read through if you are interested in orders.
Currently the average waiting time for my customers is about three years, and some of them have been waiting for more than six years for some reason.
Most of the requests are for "my family"(i.e. pet portrait) , so I must be incredibly careful to make him/her look as much like how they are. Sometimes my customers orders are for their “family” (mostly Cat or Dog) who has passed away. In this case, I receive all the sadness, grief, and pain from the owner’s e-mails, and I work withtears in my eyes and a tight feeling in my heart. Especially in the case the tragic event was recently, the owner is extremely in pain, so it is hard for me to digest owner's feelings.
I am quite sensitive, and most of my senses are more sensitive than others, and my physical condition changes easily, so sometimes I tend to be influenced by other's mental conditions. It is not easy to maintain a positive motivation in such a situation, especially when I have to be strong to convert such sad energy into a positive one. It is a tremendous burden for me.
However, some of the orders I receive are not for "my family", such as an order for creating a general animal using one of my frame series design, or an order for creating a wild animal with a detailed face expression.
In such cases, I assume the customer already likes my style and my work, so I am happy to finish the work with my inspiration, but I think it is a different kind of work in many ways when it comes to create based on the specific model such as pet portraits.
One of my styles is to make them realistic, but the work I would like to do is to realise the something that is not existing in this world. It can be its colours, shapes, or any other way of expressions. I would like to create something that is not just realistic imitation, but something that is more unique and has a soul of its own.
Thus, I would like to accept orders only from people who are attracted to my work in ways other than realism, including the styles, expressions, and faces features I have worked with in the past.
I do not mean that I never take orders for creating portraits but as a trend, the number of wool artists has been increasing every year, and there are many people who mainly take orders for pet portraits.
Also I have seen that the quality of real stuffed animals using fake fur is remarkably high quality among overseas artists. My wool sculptures (Needle-felted animals) are basically not made to be held, stroked, or moved, and they deteriorate quickly when touched. These pieces should be kept in a case and handled for complete appreciation.
On the other hand, real stuffed animals using fake fur can be posed in different ways and can be touched. If you are looking for something you would like to hold or pet, I would recommend checking out artists making realistic stuffed animals. Also if you would like to have a realistic felted pet portrait works, please research the various needle felting artists first.

• The start of production will be in the spring of 2022 or later, and you are willing to wait at least one year (The order can be delayed depending on the waiting list).
• We have not set a price list as there is no fixed design for commission works and will accept many types depends on your budget. For reference, please consider that the one work takes several months in average.
